nameservers sharing same IP

    Hi!

    I want my reseller's nameservers to shares my own nameserver's ips.

    I edited the dns zone for my reseller domain and added
    ns1.reseller.com ns ns1.mynameserver.com
    ns1.reseller.com ns ns2.mynameserver.com
    ns1.reseller.com A 11.11.111.11 (ns1 ip)
    ns2.reseller.com ns ns1.mynameserver.com
    ns2.reseller.com ns ns2.mynameserver.com
    ns2.reseller.com A 22.22.222.22 (ns1 ip)

    At the registrar I did everything I should.

    I checked file /etc/nameserverips and there's no entry for
    ns1.reseller.com 11.11.111.11
    ns2.reseller.com 22.22.222.22

    Should I add htese entries manually? Thanks.

    no need they NS will still resolve

    make sure your have share nameserver ip's checked in whm

    I am having a simalar problem.......I have a reseller that wanted private nameservers.....I told him to register a host with the ips of my nameservers. I then avecreated the records in dns like above........I have checked the "share nameserver ips" in whm and I still get the error

    "Cannot determine nameserver ip for domain.comPlease make sure that it is registered with a valid domain name register.


    What do i do???


    This is killin me the domain.com is an example


    Please help

    most likely they did not register their nameservers

    Who didnt register them?........I regestered the hosts....what do you suggest???

    then they should work
    what are the nameservers ??? cant really look at them or look at the domains for you if I do not know what they are

    nameservers are ns1.henriemedia.com and ns2.henriemedia.com

    I am still getting that error about not being able tor resolve nameserver

    ns2.henriemedia.com. A IN 172800 66.98.158.24
    ns2.henriemedia.com. A IN 14400 66.98.158.235


    you have two A entheries for the nameserver above most likely because you are using it for a subdomain delete the NS record and point the subdomain to the correct IP
