I'm still new at this so I'll try to explain it as clearly as possible. :)

I recently signed up with Shopify and they give you the option to host your shop on your own domain. I want mine to be at shop.mydomain.com

Here are their directions specifically

A. Getting Started

You need to be able to edit your domain's DNS records. The best way to find out if you can do this is to contact your domain name registrar or your web hosting provider. They should be able to tell you how to do step two of this overview.

B. Create your CNAME records

Assuming you want to host your shop at shop.example.com, you would add the following CNAME entry to your example.com domain: shop CNAME christinaperdue.myshopify.com.

C. Enter the domain name(s) you'll be using

After that is done you will now need to add shop.example.com to your claimed addresses below. All requests which make it to our servers with the domains you claimed will be routed to your shop. If you don't complete this step, your domain will just point to a Shopify page claiming that it cannot find the shop you are looking for.
I followed these directions and I must have done something wrong in WHM.

I went to WHM > Add a DNS Zone > Typed in all the info

It doesn't work.

So I thought I must have typed something in wrong. I went to edit my DNS zone and the one I created is not showing up in edit or delete.

I obviously messed up the one I attempted to create yet there's no way to edit or delete it and try again.

This is what the attempt currently looks like.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Christina,

Possibly an easier way for you to do this, if it's available to you.

Is to select 'subdomains' in cpanel.
Simply type in 'shop' in the first field and accept the defaults.

A directory /shop/ will be created for you to install | place your shop files.

Cheers

The issue with that is that Shopify doesn't need to be uploaded (or rather cannot).

The only way to host the shop on your domain is to claim a Hostname through their admin panel. Otherwise your shop is at shopname.myshopify.com

I'm sure I could figure it out, but the DNS Zone I created isn't showing up in WHM so I cannot delete or edit it.

Christina,

I think you should edit your existing DNS zone rather than adding a new one.

In WHM try 'Edit DNS Zone'

You should append:

|shop| |14400| |CNAME| |christinaperdue.myshopify.com|

That should do it.
