I am using MSN mail, and cannot send email. I get error codes, but cannot find where to view what these error codes mean. I believe I may have set up my POP3 incorrectly. I am using "phonelesscord.com" as my incoming mail server, but am unsure what is correct for my outgoing mail server (SMTP). Thanks in advance.

    - What is the exact error you are getting?
    - What email address are you trying to receive email for?
    - What email address are you trying to send email out from?
    - Who are you using as your email provider and have you checked with them that your settings are correct?

    - What is the exact error you are getting?

"You cannot send or receive your Tiffani email because of an unexpected problem. Please try either restarting MSN or your computer. Why this happened: Error code: 0x85b20003"

This isn't entirely true, because I do receive my mail, just cannot send.

    - What email address are you trying to receive email for?

    Both robert@phonelesscord.com and tiffani@phonelesscord.com, but receiving isn't a problem.

    - What email address are you trying to send email out from?

    Both robert@phonelesscord.com and tiffani@phonelesscord.com

    - Who are you using as your email provider and have you checked with them that your settings are correct?

I'm using the MSN mail, webmail with POP3...They are my isp. I did send a request for help and they responded with an email that just annoyed me (they asked for exact details when my original email included every detail available).

Do you own the domain phonelesscord.com and with whom/how is it hosted?

Yes, I own it, and it is hosted with superuser.net.

If this is hosted on a Cpanel account, I would imagine that you should be able to use simply "phonelesscord.com" for both the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses.

Is phonelesscord.com hosted on a cpanel account and have you tried using it as the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses?

Yes it is cpanel, and yes I've tried using phonelesscord.com for both incoming and outgoing.

Thanks sawbuck, I'll email support and see what happens.

It cannot be my isp because this is the second isp that I've had during this problem.

    Very Frustrated.

And of course, superuser NEVER emailed me back, as usual. I was surfing some forums and came across this post:

" just went through the same thing with a friend's site I was admining. But it was worse. When you signed up with their service, they put your domain in THEIR name. I went through a couple of weeks sending daily emails trying to get them to release the domain name. No response (they had zero response support typically). They used DotRegister to register the domain name. I started emailing dotRegister. DotRegister says I have to work with the domain agent. Guess what. The hosting service was also their own domain agent (different name of course). Things got so bad they eventually demanded I stop emailing them. When I replied to that email, they called the state police to claim harassment. The next day I got a call from the local police department. Nice folks, huh. So, for the record... superuser.net is one of those hosts you refer to."

ANYWAYS, I am already annoyed that I cannot send email through POP3 access, and I am considering going with someone else, very seriously. However, I really want to keep my domain name. Is that possible, or will I have the same email problems. ANY help is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks.

    edited to add:

Oh and by the way, I did find this link:

    http://www.superuser.net/qa/qa-email-issues.htm

But it didn't help as my settings are set to what this article says to do anyways.

    Transfer Domain

Transfer your domain name. GoDaggy.Com is good, then you can manage it.

Thanks, I've gotten a lot of referrals to godaddy. I just might go with them.
