Hey there! cPanel can be installed on any platform as long as you meet the requirements listed here:

System Requirements | cPanel & WHM Documentation

This document describes the system requirements for your cPanel & WHM installation.

If there is already any data on the Contabo system, it would be best to create a new server as cPanel is designed to be installed only on a clean installation of the operating system.
