Need info on theme creation

Hello,

I am new to cPanel, and I am not getting how theme customization works.

How do you change themes in WHM/Themes for specific client packages?

Reading the manual I grasp how to download the .cptheme files to customize them and then upload the tarball, but I can not even get theme files to decompress in Win XP. I can view them, but not decompress them (added .tar as an extension and tried Stuffit Expander, didn't work). Perhaps this has to done in a Unix environment?

Could someone please direct me to a thread/detailed information on how this process is performed, it seems that the manual does not offer enough detail in regards to theme customization. :confused:

WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.11.0-R16789
CENTOS Enterprise 4.4 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0
