I have an account that is using about 150 mailman lists with archives taking up around 100 gigabytes of disk space. I know based upon the following thread that those archives are not going to be transferred over correctly. Can cPanel offer some tips/assistance in what would be the best approach to moving this one account from one server to a new one?

The forum post referenced above is at:

SOLVED - [Case CPANEL-18456] Mailman Archives fail to restore and/or be removed

The version of cPanel/WHM that is running on the new server is 68.

Hi Brian,

The best approach is to update the destination server to cPanel & WHM version 70. This version includes the resolutions stemming from the cases referenced in the thread you linked. Is updating this particular system to the CURRENT build tier something you are open to?

Thank you.

I am open to that. Does the source server version matter? It is running 56 due to an OS limitation (32bit).

Hello,

The issue referenced on that thread related to the "restorepkg" process, and that only runs on the destination server during the transfer. Thus, the mailman archive restore process should work fine as long as the destination server is using cPanel & WHM version 70, even if the source server is using an older cPanel & WHM version.

Thank you.

I wanted to post an update on this. Using version 70 worked like a charm. I migrated 138 lists with over 100 GB of archives with no problem. It took hours but in the end the transfer process was flawless. Thanks!
