    Hi all,

I am setting up a new server and want all my ducks in a row before transferring all my accounts. I want to correct the WHM Page: "Show IP Address Usage"

I did see a thread from a few weeks ago about cleaning this for an FTP problem. Mine is slightly different, and want to get it straightened out.

I created my main account and an account that I use for my DNS. I edited the DNS zone file to adjust the IP's I am using for NS1, NS2, etc. But they are still showing under the main IP address. I'd like them to show under the actual used IP's on the WHM Show IP Address Usage page.

Do I edit httpd.conf to show the correct addresses, or are these changes lost via WHM or apache upgrades/changes? If so, what do I edit to preserve the info, so WHM will show proper IP usage?

Something else I noticed... while checking /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf... When first setup my server I used one e-mail address. Prior to creating accounts, I changed the address via the "Basic cPanel/WHM Setup" page. The email address showing in the httpd.conf file is the ORIGINAL address, not the one I changed it to. I assume it is safe to edit the address in the file directly.

    Thanks in advance! :)

    After reading

After reading http://www.cpanel.net/support/docs/ea/ea3/ea3_changes.html I see the use of templates, and looked through them, but am still not sure if I can make the changes needed in httpd.conf directly.

Is that the correct move, or is there another include file WHM uses to insert the VirtualHost entries into httpd.conf that may be overwritten?

    OK... Got it.

Well... I just got impatient so...

I created a backup of httpd.conf and edited the file. I made the changes needed, then ran:
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/apache_conf_distiller --update and
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/build_apache_conf

Seemed OK... changes stayed in place.

I still had a bad FTP entry when checking the show IP address usage page, but after checking this thread:
    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=105841&highlight=Show+Address+Usage

I was able to unlink the invalid symlink as unlike that thread my site was still in use... but the bad entry was from a change of IP I had done on a domain.

So for now, it appears problem solved! :D
