Hi there -

Why is it that the mail statistics do not provide the highest count specific email sender and only break this down to the domain/account level?

How would I find the highest count email sender, or a specific sender's count of outgoing email?

Thanks.

Mike
Hi Mike.. I don't think there is any specific command which will show the top email senders. This depends on the exim mail logs and how often they rotate. You need to monitor the exim logs and see with some customized script. If you want further help, let me know if you want to check it for any specific account. I will try to write a script accordingly.

Hey there HostStop -

I wish I had some time to devote to script-writing, but then again, I'm sure this must have already been done before and probably more than just once. There was some third-party script I was looking at recently, but it seemed to have all of the same functionality as cpanel. I don't have that handy at the moment but will dig it up and post the details.

If you do write something, please let us know.

My original point, however, is that cpanel should simply include code to filter by top sending email addresses, which is far more useful than knowing the top-sending domains.

Thanks.

Mike

Well, here you go - this script does the trick -

Isoqlog: Multi Functional Mail Server Log Analyzer

It basically is almost the same as what is already included in WHM with the extra functionality to show by sender.

I found it in this thread here -

http://forums.cpanel.net/f43/exim-log-viewer-analyzer-97425.html

Also, this is a very nice exim management reference/tutorial I came across -

Exim Queue Management Tutorial | Website Design West Midlands

Hope this info will help somebody else out there who stumbles upon this thread.

Thanks.
