    do the following ...

    /scripts/updated
    /scripts/cleanmd5
    /scripts/perlinstaller MD5
    /scripts/perlinstaller Digest::MD5

    This should make it work. All the best :)

    I followed all the commands of linux_image but still getting errors in compilation.

    ===================================
    Removing previously used /home/.cpan/build/Digest-MD5-2.33

    CPAN.pm: Going to build G/GA/GAAS/Digest-MD5-2.33.tar.gz

    Testing alignment requirements for U32... /usr/local/lib/libc.a: could not read symbols: No more archived files
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    Can't compile test program. Will ensure alignment to play safe.

    Checking if your kit is complete...
    Looks good
    Writing Makefile for Digest::MD5
    cp MD5.pm blib/lib/Digest/MD5.pm
    /usr/bin/perl -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/i386-linux -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/xsubpp -typemap /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/typemap -typemap typemap MD5.xs > MD5.xsc && mv MD5.xsc MD5.c
    gcc -c -fno-strict-aliasing -I/usr/local/include -O2 -march=i386 -mcpu=i686 -DVERSION=\"2.33\" -DXS_VERSION=\"2.33\" -fPIC -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/i386-linux/CORE -DU32_ALIGNMENT_REQUIRED MD5.c
    Running Mkbootstrap for Digest::MD5 ()
    chmod 644 MD5.bs
    rm -f blib/arch/auto/Digest/MD5/MD5.so
    LD_RUN_PATH="" gcc -shared -L/usr/local/lib MD5.o -o blib/arch/auto/Digest/MD5/MD5.so
    /usr/local/lib/libc.a: could not read symbols: No more archived files
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make: *** [blib/arch/auto/Digest/MD5/MD5.so] Error 1
    /usr/bin/make -- NOT OK
    Running make install
    make had returned bad status, install seems impossible
    perlmod--Install done
    =================================

    How to fix this crap ?

    Please help..
