never ending "pop failed" messages

I get this email about every 5 minutes:

pop failed @ Mon Jun 26 21:58:04 2006. A restart was attempted automagicly

I've searched these forums and have found similar threads, none of which have an answer as to why this is happening or how to fix it.

I just did an /scripts/courierup --force
followed by a /scripts/eximup --force

And I'm using WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.2-R119 on Trustix 2.2

Any suggestions?

You could check if there are any further details in /var/log/messages

cat /var/log/messages | grep pop
cat /var/log/messages | grep courier

You might also want to open a ticket with cPanel support - doesn't do any harm!
