This is a quick question that will hopefully lead me to the solution to another larger problem I'm having on one of my servers.

When I create a new account, the notification email I get is "New Account Created on NS4.MY-DOMAIN.COM"...which is one of the nameservers on my server. The server hostname is "SRV02.WEB-SERVER.COM", and I believe it should use that in the subject of the email, as it does respectively with my other servers. My question is where is the name pulled, that is used in the subject of that email, from in WHM/CPanel?

I've checked to make sure my hostname setup is correct in the following places:

    - /etc/hosts
    - /etc/resolv.conf
    - /etc/sysconfig/network
    - typing 'hostname' yeilds SRV02.WEB-SERVER.COM

I think if I can find where WHM pulls the servername from when it sends a New Account notification, I will find what is causing me other problems.

    Go on, have a guess
Check /etc/wwwacct.conf and the HOST variable.

Thank you for the suggestion. I checked that file and it has my correct server hostname there as well.

I looked through the code for the CPanel account creation script at

    /scripts/wwwacct

indeed, the hostname looks like it is pulled from

    /etc/wwwacct.conf

The thing is, the correct info for HOST in wwwacct.conf is correct, but it still is sending me the NS4.MY-DOMAIN.COM as the host. I am stumped.

Again, this isn't my actual issue, just a possible symptom of a larger problem.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
