When a client of mine creates a new account I get the confirmation email in my box instead of him. I have looked trough his reseller WHM account and my VPS whm account but cannot find where to change this setting so he receives his own created account emails.

Please advise where to change this.

Root Administrator
Go to root WHM-> Account Information -> List Accounts
and change your client's account's Contact Email.

I thought above solution was the correct one but when I go to Root WHM >> Account information >> etc. the contact information is correct (and was) but the new account emails and termination emails of his reseller account are still coming to my mailbox.

They are supposed to come to both mailboxes, to your client's and yours.

Hello :)

Yes, it's intended for the "root" address to receive that notification. Are you sure it's not delivered to the "reseller" contact email address? The notification should be sent out to both.
