In a previous Version of WHM/Cpanel - when I created a new account it would automatically set the MX record to MAIL.DOMAIN.COM

Now when I create an account it sets the MX record to: DOMAIN.COM.

Pardon the newb question but how do I reverse this/modify this so that it automatically sets the MX record to MAIL.DOMAIN.COM ?

I edited the standard zone template. Modifying the MX line from:
    %domain%. IN MX 0 %domain%.

    to:

    %domain%. IN MX 0 mail.%domain%.

however the MX records for new accounts still use domain.com instead of mail.domain.com.

what am I doing wrong? I've tried a couple of combinations, and they either return errors or just don't work.

    Try the "Zone Template: standardvirtualftp"
