Hello,

I have recently run into a new problem. I have more than 150 accounts on a server, and they are all working properly. However, over the last couple of days I have been adding new accounts and the DNS does not seem to work for them. My clients have transferred nameservers for their domain, and now their sites no longer work because my DNS does not respond for them.

I have no idea what is going on with this. It does not happen to every new account, only a few of them. DNS zones seem to be correct, I have restarted Bind many times, but I cannot figure out what is wrong.

Please help asap.

Thank you.

Do old zones work or does nothing work?

Have you tired running named-checkconf yet ?

Yes, old zones work fine.

I have not tried running named-checkconf yet.

However, I just did this on one of the domains and it is now working.
1.) Delete a DNS zone (select the domain name).
2.) Add a DNS zone (enter IP and domain name).
hit submit - and it starts working.

It's very odd, this doesn't happen to every new account. It only happens to a few.

Now, should I run named-checkconf or just fix all of the domains by doing the above steps?

The output from named-checkconf might be useful run that, please paste it back here, then del/add them.

all it says when I run named-checkconf is:

the default for the 'auth-nxdomain' option is now 'no'

I'm going to go ahead and del/add them now.

Also - I've been noticing over the past month or so, when I add a new account, I must restart Bind before the Domain will start resolving. I wonder if these two things are connected in any way?

That means WHM/bind are not compatible on that box....
same issue as this :
http://support.cpanel.net/obb/read.php?TID=1189

I think the proper backend shite is in place now, you just have to find the combination that works on your box :)
between the fixndc scripts / the advice on this forum / luck / etc....

Try some of that and post back with results if things remain bUsTeD....
