Hello everyone :)
I'm very new to web hosting, so apologies if this sounds like a noob question.

I have an 'old' travel blog (let's say OldBlog.com) and yesterday I wanted to create a new blog (NewBlog.com).

I went to cPanel and clicked 'Create a New Domain' and followed the steps. I wrote 'NewBlog.com' under domain, and unchecked the box that says "Share document root (/home/myusername/public_html) with “OldBlog.com”."

In the box where it says "Specify the directory where you want the files for this domain to exist," I wrote "NewBlog.com".

I think I did everything correctly (i.e. I want two separate domains), but when I went to look at my HTTPS list, I saw that there was a website with "NewBlog.com.OldBlog.com".

Is that normal? Will that "merged" website show up in search results? (and if so, is there anything I can do to prevent it from doing so?)

Thanks in advance :)

Hey there! Yes, that is all normal, as cPanel creates an additional subdomain on the system so Apache can read the files. Everything you've described sounds like an additional domain on the account working as expected, but let me know if you see any issues!
