if I set backup daily for every day and set Retain to 1 day the problem is that on ftp remote old dicrectory not removed:

in this example my root backup is backupvps5, and i have this situation:

/backupvps5
/backupvps5/2013-08-04
/backupvps5/2013-08-05
/backupvps5/2013-08-06
/backupvps5/2013-08-07
/backupvps5/2013-08-08

these directories should be removed?

/backupvps5/2013-08-04
/backupvps5/2013-08-05
/backupvps5/2013-08-06
/backupvps5/2013-08-07

Hello :)

Do these directories exist on the remote backup server, or on the local server? Are there backup archives within the directories, or is it just the directories that exist?

Thank you.

Please review the following log file:

Code:
/usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup_transporter.log
Do you notice any specific error messages in this log file? In particular, do you see anything stating that "total" is an invalid permission string?

Thank you.

The connection to the remote FTP server is closing before the backups are pruned, as evident by the error message. In "WHM Home » Backup » Backup Configuration", under "Advanced Settings", you can try increasing the maximum destination timeout value. It's also possible the remote FTP server is dropping the connection. Are there any firewall rules on the remote FTP server or FTP configuration settings that could be dropping the connection?

Thank you.

Yes, 2700 is the standard value. Have you tested this with a different remote FTP server to rule out that specific remote server as the source of the problem?

Thank you.

To update, it was determined the issue was likely due to the settings on the remote FTP server. Root access to the remote FTP server was not possible to confirm that, however all indications were that a firewall or FTP configuration value on the remote server was the source of the problem.

Thank you.
