    Hello,

I installed a brand new cpanel server, and with the first hosting/domain I've installed i'm facing a problem
    the dns refuse to respond:

so the website doesnt open to the browser

    C:\>nslookup
    Default Server: google-public-dns-b.google.com
    Address: 8.8.4.4

    > server *************
    Default Server: *********************
    Address: *******************

    > domain.tld
    Server: *****************
    Address: **************************

    *** iris.server.tld can't find domain.tld: Query refused

in the log file I see:

    Apr 29 11:30:57 iris named[760102]: client ****************#26272: query 'domain.tld/NS/IN' denied

    any ideas?

I've tried restarting bind and rebuilding the dns tables.

ok I've found the cause of the problem, it was the line

    allow-query { localhost; };

    at /etc/named.conf

I've commented that line and restarted bind and now everything works,
but i'm concerned if cPanel will re-add this, anyone knows how is this deactivated from inside cPanel ?

    Hello :)

You can rebuild the DNS configuration to determine if the entry is added automatically:

    Code:
    /scripts/rebuilddnsconfig
Note: I believe this was addressed with internal case number 88977 as of cPanel version 11.42.1.1.

    Thank you.

    I did run /scripts/rebuilddnsconfig

    I got the output:
    ./
    ./localdomain.zone
    ./localhost.zone
    ./named.broadcast
    ./named.zero
    ./named.local
    ./named.ip6.local

so I rechecked /etc/named.conf and the line was still commented which is allright!

thank you Michael for the reply.
