I just installed cPanel on a new server. I remember that cPanel will disable the X Window. However, after the installation, my WHM/cPanel is running fine, but my Linux GUI is still running too. Is this how it's suppose to work with the latest version or did I miss something?

I do not think so if CPanel installation will disable the GUI interfaces of your server.

I asked this back in 2006 when I installed my 1st server. I was told that cPanel intentionally disables X. Now when I'm installing a test server, it does not. So I'm just wondering if there is a change in cPanel where it won't disable X or (worst) I did something wrong that I'm not aware of.

We no longer disable X on servers upon cPanel/WHM install. However, it is still considered poor practice to run X on a production web server.
