    Hi all,

First time using cpanel so apologies for the basic question.

I have installed a new sbs server that will be hosting my clients email. Server is installed but we are currently not able to send or receive any emails. I just wanted to confirm my settings in cpanel.

For a record i have: servers external ip
    Mx: mail.domainname.co.uk

Are these all the settings i need in cpanel to be configured & how long does it take for the settings to come into effect?

One option i did notice that is currently configured is ip4. do i need this?

    Any info is extremely appreciated!

You also need to tell cPanel that mail will not be hosted locally. In the WebHost Manager, click Main >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone, and select the zone that has its mail hosted externally. Under the heading Email Routing for, select the radio button next to Remote Mail Exchanger. This will prevent cPanel from trying to process mail for the domain locally.
