    Hello,

I created a new FTP account for one of my domains.

The creation was succesful. However, i can't login!

    Any ideas?

Is the domain new? I had the same problem, had to wait for DNS to propagate properly until I could log into ftp.domain.com instead of the IP. Did you try logging into the IP addy?

The domain has been arround for months.

I try to login and get authentication failure..

I tried deleting the new account from cPanel, and got a file not found (404) about a weird file on the server...

I'm having the same problem - old domain, new ftp account, not logging in. And I have no clue what to do - and everyone else I know is as clueless as I am.

    Go on, have a guess
You really need to check the server logs when it fails, /var/log/messages for pure-ftpd. You could also try resyncing the ftp passwords using the option in WHM.

If you're an end-user, which isn't clear from the posts, then you need to speak to your web hosting provider.

Passive mode or not, I'm able to log in with owner accounts, but not with accounts requiring login@domain. It's silly and annoying.

CORRECTION: I just tried it again and connections work (both passive/active, that makes no difference)! Is there some kind of delay involved after an FTP account is created, or was there a bug that was fixed by a cPanel update during the night?
