I just added 500Gb space to my existing 250Gb in my server box, and I am wondering about the best way to use and divide it up.

I was originally considering partitioning just one big primary and mounting a new 'backup' folder to replace the existing one on my current 250Gb hard drive. I figure considering /backup would be essentially 3x more than the /home folder (daily+week+monthly backups) that this would be best.

But then I started feel like this might be waste if I desired in the future to use the other space for something even if I now have plenty to use. Any advice on how I should assign the space on the new HDD for my cPanel server? Current file system as follows:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/md2 209G 165G 34G 84% /
    /dev/md1 16G 7.2G 7.3G 50% /var
    /dev/md0 99M 32M 62M 34% /boot
    tmpfs 2.0G 0 2.0G 0% /dev/shm
    /usr/tmpDSK 485M 24M 436M 6% /tmp
