    Hi all

    I have just installed cPanel onto a new CentOS 5.1 x64 VPS, but I can't access http://1.2.3.4:2086

I get the login box asking for username & password, so I type in my root password, but then get a blank screen.

    Any suggestions?

Have you looked in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log for any output?

I have just checked it, and get this:

Trying to see what's in /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr, I see there's no /local/cpanel/whostmgr - so it's like the installer hasn't downloaded everything from cPanel's server.

I have re-run the installed 4 times already with the same problem.

Did you do /scripts/upcp or /scripts/upcp --force?

Both ways. I've actually reinstalled the VPS twice, and created a new VPS as well to make sure it's not a CentOS problem.

But I've logged a support ticket and Russel sorted it out, had something todo with PERL

mm,I just got the same trouble on another new installation. And I happen to have followed a discsussion on the CentOS mailing list about the new CentOS 5.2 release, which still has problems, and haven't been fully realsed.

Since we work on remote servers, CentOS get's installed from a kickstart file via a CentOS mirror. Interestingly, it seems that CentOS 5.2 is on that mirror already, and this is what has caused this problem.

So, now I need to figure out how to downgrade it so it's actually workable. David, has cPanel been tested on CentOS 5.2 yet? Caus I can already see a LOT of "broken" servers in the next few days

I remember when people were claiming that cPanel/WHM didn't work with RHEL 5.2, we immediately tested that and traced the issue to a bad repository. Many customers are currently using CentOS 5.2 without issue, so if you are experiencing issues with CentOS 5.2, first try /scripts/upcp --force and if that doesn't work, submit a support ticket so our technical analysts can determine the source of the malfunction and see if we can take corrective action from our end: http://tickets.cpanel.net/submit

    same problem

This is the problem i must be having, since i have tried to install and nothing seems to work. I've opened a ticket for this. This is strange, since i have another new server running 5.2 with no problems.

I recommend you check your VPS to see what processes are consuming memory. Blank WHM pages on a VPS is sometimes an indication that the VPS is running out of memory.

Is this VPS on a 32-bit OS or a 64-bit OS?
