New server install -> Applying privileges to user in cpanel doesn't update

Hi there,

I have recently bought a dedicated server through FastHosts with WHM/Cpanel.

After setting up, i have created a domain and begun by adding a MySQL database with username/password.

When I link the domain to the user, and click apply all privileges, it successfully works.

Now after inputting the details in my PHP script, I get a mysql connect error saying it can't connect.

I've tried various different things but whilst snooping at the rootWHM phpmyadmin panel, under user i can see my username i set up and all the privileges are set to 'N'.

No matter how many times i change it via cpanel, it still doesn't update.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it?

Hello

Have you verified that you are using the correct database name and username in the script configuration? Are you using "localhost" for the database host?

Hello :D

Thank you for the reply. Yes, all was correct which is what is weird.

Luckily, It was a new install with no data so I have reinstalled to see if it works now.

I will update with the answer shortly
