new version of Cpanel breaks WHMCS?

I noticed that now that cpanel was upgraded, WHMCS will no longer allow for account creation. I aked Matt and was told that Cpanel's latest version disallows all account creation except from within WHM itself.

This kind of defeats one major purpose for purchasing WHMCS - is this something permanent, or will it be fixed in the future? Is there a workaround? Makes twice as much work for us now.

Thanks,
Tara

I did. And the response I got was above, that cpanel's latest update disallows any account creation from outside of WHM.

My question was, why did cpanel do this, and are there plans to "fix" it?

Nope

Tara,

I guess that is not possible, because there are many other billing software that won't work in such case.

I am really not sure about this.

Amit

I haven't updated to the new WHM yet, but every problem I've encountered usually results in a "Firewall Issue".

"Account cannot be created" or some similar message.

Check;
Which port?
tail -f /var/log/messages
tail -f /var/log/secure

To get a more accurate response;

You can see the apache error here;

tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log

Please update if anyone have any input to add.

Doesn't have anything to do with a firewall. It worked perfectly before the cpanel upgrade.

Curious Too:

So, you have the same issue? I saw at least 6 people on the WHMCS forums with the same issue as well.

I got it to work. Under configuration ==> products and services ==> module settings you have to delete and uncheck everything except the package name.

I've submitted a support request on this issue, I'm curious what you meant by unchecking module settings? For all of the packages? That doesn't make any sense.

I know it's not a Cpanel product but any help would be appreciated. Our customer has submitted a ticket to WHMCS as well.

I fixed the problem. Don't know if everyone is having the same issue, but this was my fix.

I had the cpanel theme for the packages defined in whmcs as black_ice. It didn't like that. Once I changed it to x3, the accounts created fine.

Hope that helps someone.

It seems to be working fine now after updating rvskin. :s Interesting. I'll let anyone know if I see further issues. Thanks for heads up regarding packages.

We will address some compatibility issues in 11.23.3. Currently account creation may fail if there is a dns server in the cluster down.

Could it be related to the WHM > Server Configuration > Tweak Settings > Security :

Only permit cpanel/whm/webmail to execute functions that have a referrer that matches one of the domains/ip on this server. This will help prevent XSRF attacks, but may break integration with other systems, login applications, and billing software.

OR

that whm doesn't allow the use of the word unlimited or settings over 999 in the cPanel module settings of WHMCS

OR

You are using the strong password policy for new account in "WHM > Security > Security Center > Password Strength Configuration" which WHMCS doesn't take in configuration?

We have been able to create new accounts without any issue and we have this option enable and this whmcs is on a dedicated IP also which could be the worst possible way to setup our system for new creations of account but it did pass.

We have WHMCS 3.6.1
WHM 11.23.0 cPanel 11.23.3-C25049
CENTOS Enterprise 4.6 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0
Running CURRENT

For issues relating to WHMCS, I recommend contacting WHMCS.

Only your first item seems to be directed at cPanel and WHM. Was it a question?
