new virus? don't open zip file

    if you have same email , please notice customer don't open zip file ! Our mailscanner can't stop this email with virus zip file , i don't know is that update to cpanel 9.0 with cpanel pro , it overwrite our mail scanner.

    That's getting ridiculous. I'm getting about 10 emails per hour with various subject lines and messages. I wish those people would find something useful to do with their life.

    No problem , i have question , is that with password zip file , Mailscanner + clamav can't detect virus?

    And i have one question , is that new cpanel 9.0 change any setting with mailscanner? or i need to reinstall mailscanner+clamav?

    The reason that mailscanner and things of that nature can't scan the file is because it's password protected.

    And in order to extract the file, the password needs to be entered. Something mailscanner obviously can't do.

    Sucks... it truly does. Seeing as I just got one in my inbox less than 30 minutes ago.

    Hopefully us IT guys can ATTEMPT to inform our end users as best we can.

    access.

    Our main mailing server will be temporary unavaible for next two days,

    account information.

    We warn you about some attacks on your e-mail account. Your computer

    is a 5-digit random number that the worm used to encrypt the attached
    zip file.

    The .zip file contains a randomly named .exe file, which is
    password-protected
    with the above mentioned password

    Stay safe and don't open attachments unless you are expecting them.

    TO ALL

    Never open an email with an attachment of an unknown user, if its important there going to get back to you aren't they.

    Secondly never open attachments to emails unless its something you have requested, if you have requested it make sure its in the appropriate format i.e. word document etc that you specified for.

    Last but not least scan your mail with your virus scanner, I use Norton and it picks up 100% of emails that have been going round recently
