Newbe question: What's an A entrey

    OK, its an Address entry, but why should I add one for my name server?

    I suggest picking up a copy of the bible.

    I would also suggest (not the best read but free) that you take a look at IETF RFCs 1034 and 1035 (with 1035 defining the A RR type).

    An A record allows systems to derive an IP address from a hostname so that traffic can be routed along the internet.

    If you are asking why you would want to maintain a local copy of an A record, then the answer would be to reduce network traffic and latency (read better performance).
