Fedora Core 6 is going to become unsupported in under a month and thus leaving all versions of Fedora cPanel supports now unsupported by Fedora people.

I've tried to get some information in existing bugzilla entries but no one seems to want to respond, so I'll ask here: are we going to be seeing support for Fedora 7 or 8 coming soon? (8 is now released!)

I know Fedora Core 7 support is just about done. I'm not sure what on the QA side is holding things up with officially supporting it. However, I know many customers currently use FC 7 on their cPanel/WHM servers.

Fedora Core 8 support is still in the works.

We are currently testing Fedora 8. It appears to have a few more 'kinks' compared to Fedora 7.

    Ok, thanks for the update.

I'm glad to see support for F7 was added finally!

It was added a while ago, but secondary issues prevented the publishing of the updated supported page.

There are no RPMs currently provided for Fedora 8. This means an install of cPanel will take longer due to needing to compile all the RPMs from source on the local machine.

The 'kinks' I mentioned are causing problems for the build machine used to generate the RPMs. While we will certainly work to support an install on Fedora 8, it's still too early in the cycle to say it is 'safe.' If you do move ahead with your plans, I urge you to open support tickets for issues encountered at https://tickets.cpanel.net/submit/

Do you mean you will support my issues for FC8?

I've just finally heeded everyone's advice and moved onto cPanel. Problem solved.
