    Hello All,

    WHM 6.4.2/CPanel 6.4.2 s75/ Redhat 8.0

    I am very much confused on how Formmail is oragnized on cPanel servers.
    A lot of client are complaining that when they use Formmail.cgi it says "Bad Referrer - Access Denied" you must add the domain name in the @referres array.

    On My server i have this entry in httpd.conf
    ScriptAlias cgi-sys /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys

    Any domain on my server can access the Formmail.cgi with /cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi

    Our clients are using this code for the Formmail.cgi
    <form method="post" action="/cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi" >
    <input type="hidden" ........... >
    the code is perfect.
    <form method="post" action="http://theiredomain.com/cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi" >

    So why are they getting these errors.

    I know that the @referrer array must have the domain name entry. but since all the domains are using the same FormMail.cgi it simply not working.

    am i doing something wrong ? I m missing something..?

    When i put the Formmail.cgi in their domain with the entry for their domain in the @referrer array it works fine.

    Put me on correct path pls.

    Regards,
    :confused:

    Don't use cPanels form mail scripts. Download your own copy of NMS, place it in your cgi-bin, rename it, configure it and you're off and running. Keep things simple.

    So it simlply means that i don't go behind cPanel for FormMail atleast.

    But i am curious why cPanel has configured FormMail to use like that ?
