Hi folks,

I recently updated "Host Access Control" and it appears I have locked myself out from WHM and I do not have SSH access. I have tried access from multiple ip addresses but it is definitely completely blocked, I just get a error when accessing WHM.

Within my web hosting provider (UK2.net) I do have access to a console if that helps... They are also not being very helpful...

How can I resolve this issue or what are my options?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hey there! If the change you made that is blocking you was done through WHM >> Host Access Control, that should not be hard to fix if you can get console access to the server.

Once you are logged into the console you can edit the /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny files to remove the changes you added to the interface. At that point, things will be working normally. Once you have accessed the system, it would be a good idea to add your local IP address to the allow list on the system to avoid this happening again in the future.

Can you try that and let me know how it goes?

Hi cPRex,

Thank you for your assistance, you are amazing!

I have managed to gain access to WHM again by deleting "hosts.allow" and "hosts.deny" files as I was not actually sure how to edit them via terminal commands.

Thanks again!
