Hi. Both in cPanel docs and here in this forum I've encountered warnings like this:

We strongly recommend that only experienced Tomcat administrators install Tomcat

I have a small server with a handful of clients and have been asked for Tomcat. I'm used to having to find my way around cpanel servers for the past 10 years, but have never been exposed to Tomcat.

I'm trying to understand what are the risks of trying this without experience. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello :)

The risk is that you encounter an error with a script that's uploaded and you are unable to get it working properly. Support for Tomcat does not extend beyond ensuring Tomcat itself is properly installed. The following document is a good place to get started:

    Introduction To Tomcat

    Thank you.
