Hello, I have reseller hosting space from a host who uses WHM and Cpanel to manage their accounts. I have been using WHM and Cpanel for over five years and think they are both excellent software.
But I have a feature request.

When I am l create a new mailbox on my domain using cpanel. The ordinary mail account that I created has on the webmail login success page the following options besides choosing an installed client:

Change Password, Forwarding Options, Auto Responders, Configure Mail Client, Box Trapper. Email Delivery Route, Email Filtering

But the default administrator account has only:

Configure Mail Client, Box Trapper, Email Delivery Route

Why the lack of the other options for the administrator/default account. Especially the Filtering option. It would seem (at least to me) that this would be a most useful feature for the default account since it serves as a catch all where unrouted mail is sent. The ability to auto-delete mail bound for a particular unassigned address would surely simplify my life.

You can auto-delete mail set for a particular unassigned address using Forwarders or Account Level Filtering areas in cPanel itself, since the account doesn't have to exist in order to setup a forward or filter for that account. For example, some people have a forwarder for an email account that doesn't exist (so they don't have to create the account) and forward the emails to an off server account. The email will still be received and forwarded in that instance.

While I do understand the purpose of your request, there are other areas that handle these functions for non-existing accounts as noted in my first paragraph. You can also change the configuration for the default account itself in cPanel > Default Address area.

The main reason such options aren't in the webmail area for the default account are that the default account is the cPanel user's login anyway. You have access to cPanel directly rather than only webmail. The default account's primary configuration options appear in cPanel for that reason rather than the toned down webmail interface.

If you click the [ Return to cPanel ] link, you can access all the functionality you listed from the cPanel Interface.

I have moved this thread out of the feature request forums since this functionality already exists.
