Upgraded and noticed this in the changelog, but it appears that the hard links are not gone, is there a good script to remove them safely? There are over 100 directories atleast that would have to be deleted by hand on my server the way I'm doing it now, and I've got to find a better way.

The following commands will do it. The last one will throw up a lot of errors, but should be OK. Use at your own risk!
    Code:
    rm -fv /home/*/mail/*/inbox*
    rmdir -v /home/*/mail/*

Wouldn't the last line delete ALL the inboxes?

No. Because by using rmdir without -f it will only delete it if it's a directory match and the directory is empty. I've used it on our servers without problems, but as I said, use it at your own risk ;)

Okay, I see now, as the directories I want to get rid of are now empty, so this works.

Thanks for the help, it cleaned up the file system a bit atleast.

I noticed that when a new mailaccount is created, the double old style inbox is still created, with the hardlink. Is this something cpanel won't or didn't fix yet? I'm not on EDGE, but I didn't found anything on it in the latest changelog.

    Any comments welcome

My bad :s, was mistaking in my cpanel version number... thought I had a newer version then 9.9.0 (build 72), but it ain't so... been so busy with other things I didn't know I was already far behind with cpanel updates  Talk about a bad serveradmin

    Thanks for replying anyhow

    regards

Will cpanel automatically remove the old (no longer needed by cpanel) folders and files, then? Or do we need to do this manually ourselves to free up space, etc?

If they're still there, then you'll have to remove them yourself. See my second post in the thread ;)

Ya, I saw that. thanks! I'm just very paranoid about manually touching anything to do with cpanel...

Are you 100% sure that these won't kill "real" email boxes? The "use at your own risk" disclaimer makes me nervous.

I'd MUCH rather if cpanel would clean up their own mess, etc...

All I can say is that it worked for me. If you're unsure (and I would be) then log it in bugzilla and get them to do the dirty work :)
