I tried to send in a support ticket from my whm support link. Now they say I need to ask my datacenter. Am I doing something wrong here? My datacenter's support is completely useless.

There are many generous admins in here who will definately help you with your problem
So I think you should post the problem you are facing...so that people in here can read it and help you according to their knowledge and experince. :)

Did you get your licence directly from cPanel, or is it through your datacenter?

    Go on, have a guess
Then it's probably time to move to a more responsible datacenter. Part of their agreement with cPanel in offering discounted licenses is that they have to be the fist-line support for cPanel issues. If they are not providing that support, then they;re not giving you the service that you are paying for and you should leave (and probably let cPanel know about it).

Try emailing or even phoning them. Phone support has been excellent and have dealt with queries very efficiently. Haven't had problems with ticket support either - but I'd only contact cPanel if I honestly believe it would be better contacting them first otherwise I'd go through NDC Host (whom I bought my license from).

Whether it is better or not, it is YOUR data centers responsibility to support your cPanel license. If you are having cPanel issue you go to your licensor for support, they in turn can go to cPanel if needed.

This is my question I sent The Planet:

I am trying to configure a spambox in outlook express for a customer but it is not working. I am setting it up as an IMAP account. Settings are below:

    e-mail address: test@****.com/spam
    user name: test@****.com/spam
password: using the password for email test@****.com
    Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): mail.****.com
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.****.com

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong here. Thanks alot.

This is the response I get from the planet:

I do apologize but what you are asking for will fall under admin time. It is your responsibility to assist your customer in setting this up.

This has nothing to do with the support we offer you for the dedicated server. I am sorry you are having issues and I understand it can be frustrating but this is not a tech support issue. This sounds like something our support dept. can not even assist you with as it looks to be an issue with the way your customers server is setup.

    My suggestions are:

Use Google or maybe our forum.

I wish you luck in finding a solution.

    Thank You

Can someone from cpanel please let me know what I am supposed to do. I need to setup a spambox which I think is a cpanel issue. The planet refuses to help me without me paying them extra money which is completely ridiculous for this minor issue. Also its quite obvious nobody knows how to setup a spambox everywhere I've looked, THanks

You shouldn't need a spambox if your server is setup properly.

Suggestion; find any post on these forums made by Chirpy. Click the link in his sig and get together with him to setup your mail properly. It is not free, but it IS worth every penny.

If you must do it alone, visit his site anyway for more details on how to go about that.

My customer is the one that is asking for the spambox so I always comply.

Cpanel was kind enough to answer me below:

After enabling spambox, you would use the same login information as the normal email account, except "user@domain.com/spam" as the username rather than "user@domain.com."

Note that the spambox won't be created until you receive your first spam, and checking the spambox before then will fail.

    Thank you.

It did not work because the first spam did not come yet.

    Thank you very much cpanel.

someone should make this sticky :))

cpanel support is doing more than they should.

congrats cpanel, on a job well done.

PS. this was probably one of those situations: why write a 1 page email telling the customer it's not your job to answer this, when you can write few words telling him how to do it.
