This problem just started yesterday and I haven't been able to find anything to pin down as the culprit.

I've tried stopping httpd and starting it (with both the start and startssl options) with no positive result. All I know is that the server isn't listening on port 443 which tells me it isn't running. If you have any suggestions where to start looking or questions to perhaps get on a trail to solve this, I'd very much appreciate it.

For anybody that may run into this problem:

"The problem was that all semaphores were in use on your server, preventing apache from starting correctly. This is a rare problem with apache servers when left running on systems with substantial uptimes."

    Fixed the issue.

Could you please outline the steps you took to correct the issue?
