    We noticed that one of our Freebsd servers stopped doing Webalizer stats updating since going to cPanel 11.25.0. We have since run upcp force and another manual later on to go to cPanel 11.25.0-C42399 - WHM 11.25.0 - (X 3.9 FREEBSD 6.2) however the Webalizer stats show nothing updated since the initial move to 11.25 about two weeks ago.

    What checks can I do to determine what is wrong. WHM says that webalizer is keeping up and we even set the extracpus up higher in case (but that would affect all stats, not just webalizer). None of the accounts on the server seem to be updating webalizer, but analog and awstats seem ok.

    Thanks for any tips or ideas.

    There are a few things you can do:

    1. Check the contents of /usr/local/cpanel/logs/stats_log for errors

    2. Run the stats manually for a user:

    Code:
    /scripts/runweblogs user

    3. Raise the logging level of cpanellogd to 10. This is done via the Stats Log Leve option in Tweak Settings. After raising the log level, perform a stats run for a user. More logging details will be output to both the stats log and stdout.

    I set it to 10 and ran a "runweblogs" for one account. I see alot of warnings and some errors but I can't tell what is acceptable or what is a bad error.

    This is the output. I commented out critical info about clients domains, if that makes it too confusing let me know and I will start a ticket instead. Thanks:

    Nope, it shows the last day as 12/13/09. Nothing changed since then. For any account I run "runweblogs" I pretty much get the same processing output but then nothing new in webalizer stats.

    Via root SSH access using sudo, please try the following command to manually run webalizer with its debug "-d" option enabled; replace "username" with that of the applicable user account and replace "domain.tld" with the applicable domain name involved:
    Code:
    # sudo -u username /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/webalizer -d -T -N 10 -D /home/username/tmp/webalizer/dns_cache.db -R 250 -p -n domain.tld -o /home/username/tmp/webalizer/ /usr/local/apache/domlogs/domain.tld
    If logged-in as the user account here is an example without using sudo:
    Code:
    # /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/webalizer -d -T -N 10 -D /home/username/tmp/webalizer/dns_cache.db -R 250 -p -n domain.tld -o /home/username/tmp/webalizer/ /usr/local/apache/domlogs/domain.tld

    Thank you for the information. My apologies for lack of a timely update.

    The problem is due to an erroneous check of the FreeBSD version number. My hint was this bit of text:

    Code:
    [2009-12-31 10:12:58 -0500] WEBLANG english
    [2009-12-31 10:12:58 -0500] skipping webalizer build not a new rh

    This check is happening in the isrhnew function found in /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Logd.pm, specifically this bit of code:

    Code:
        my ( $sysname, $release ) = ( Cpanel::OSSys::uname() )[ 0, 2 ];
        if ( $sysname =~ /freebsd/i && $release =~ /^5/ ) {
            return 1;
        }
        return 0

    In short if the FreeBSD version number doesn't start with a 5, the code won't work. I've reported this to the developers. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    If you modify that file to this, it should work:

    Code:
        my ( $sysname, $release ) = ( Cpanel::OSSys::uname() )[ 0, 2 ];
        if ( $sysname =~ /freebsd/i && $release =~ /^[5-9]{1,}/ ) {
            return 1;
        }
        return 0

    The above worked well on my FreeBSD 7.2 amd64 test system. Beware that this might require Webalizer be built when you request the next stats run.

    Please note the above is not the official fix, simply a work around.

    EDIT:

    On further testing, there is more amiss here. Stay tuned.

    Thank you for the update. I will wait until you say its ok to apply any edits or patches. Clients got tired of bugging me so they can wait a little while.

    I have the same problem, but noone noticed till today. Are the stats from december 18th till now lost or will they appear in the next run of webalizer?

    I don't know as it will depend upon various factors such as whether you are rotating the domain logs.

    Still no webalizer updating. We're running the latest current and webalizer has not updated since mid December.

    Is there any way to fix this ?

    Please open a support ticket with us. Mark the ticket: ATTN QA - FreeBSD Webalizer.

    Thank you.

    Well, that was pointless.

    Since opening this thread it appears that Cpanel has deemed that 6.x and 7.0 versions of Freebsd are now no longer supported as they are end of life and so they cannot help fix this webalizer problem.

    It would have been nice to have it fixed six weeks ago when Freebsd 6.2 was
    still a supported O/S but now I see that anything below 7.1 is now on the "old software" list and so there will be no fix for me.

    Nice. :rolleyes:

    That's not what that means. When an operating system is moved to the Existing Customers section of System Requirements - cPanel Inc. it simply means we won't support brand new installs on the listed operating systems. Existing installs are still supported.

    If the information you are partially citing is from a support ticket, please PM me your ticket number.

    Thank you.
