I am no longer able to receive email from hotmail.com on any domain account on my server. Unfortunately the return message at hotmail does contain an error code.

Just wondering - where would a domain be blacklisted server-wide in WHM/Cpanel?

    Thanks.

Do you have a reverse dns on the ip of your server?

When you don't lots of mailproviders like hotmail don't deliver messages to you.

Make sure there is a PTR record.

You can also use www.dnsreport.com to see if everything is setup ok.

PTR is in place. That is not it. The DNSReport website mentions SPF, but I do not think that would be it either as pretty much no cpanel server uses it, right?

I removed all RBLs and then added one back at a time.

dnsbl.sorbs.net - this is the one blocking hotmail.com emails. I removed it and now everything works. :)

That's very interesting. Are you saying that dnsbl.sorbs.net blocks every hotmail message sent to your server? Are you sure you have rDNS setup and configured properly?

I ran the dnsreport (see URL above) and the only thing listed as problems were the SPF record and the expiration time for SOA. The "abuse" email address was also listed as a problem, but that was it. I know that I requested reverse DNS entries for my server when I got it from ThePlanet, too.

After removing dnsbl.sorbs.net (spam.dnsbl.sorbs.net to be exact) from my exim configuration I was able to receive emails from Hotmail again.

from their website. So, if someone from Hotmail sends them SPAM...

Obviously, NOT a good one to use.

    badconf.rhsbl.sorbs.net
    socks.dnsbl.sorbs.net
    nomail.rhsbl.sorbs.net
    smtp.dnsbl.sorbs.net
    misc.dnsbl.sorbs.net

are the ones I use of theirs.
