Basically what the title says, I try and create a database within cpanel. it says it's done it but when i go back to the screen nothing's there and there's no database in phpmyadmin.

i'm using sql version 4.1.18. if anyone could offer some insight that would be great as I tried searching but couldn't think of a suitable term to search for

Do you own your own server, or do you host your Web site with a company?

rent from a company, it's a dedi so i've got full access to it including shell
Does this happen to every client, or just this client?
Is /var/lib/mysql directory set with the proper permission and ownership? Are you using any weird characters for the name of a DB?

i've just created another cp account and have got the same problem. not using any weird characters i don't think, underscores aren't a problem in mysql 4.1.18 are they? from the internet i'm on at the moment i can't access shell, i'll get back to you on the mysql directory when i go home later on

This issue has been resolved now. I'd like to say what solved it but the server has had numerous things changed to make everything work (mainly from my hosting company)

Thanks a lot for helping Andy

Hi,

Please check whether your /var is full or not. It appears to be the case. Also check for the permissions as Andy suggested.
