We want to enable SpamAssassin in Exim but it appears that this would silently block outgoing email if its score is too high. Is there something we can do to notify the user if their email was block.

Hello @RetiredAF,

Outgoing emails are rejected at SMTP time if SpamAssassin scanning is enabled for outgoing messages, so the sender is alerted the message is not accepted. Is this not happening on your system?

Thank you.

We haven't tried it yet on our server, but I have a web site on [removed] and any test spam I send just never gets to the recipient and I don't get any feedback that it was block. Since the [removed] is a Cpanel site I assumed that is it's default behavior

Can you paste the specific Exim transaction log for this message from /var/log/exim_mainlog? EX:

Code:
exigrep [email protected] /var/log/exim_mainlog
Ensure to replace real domain names and IP addresses with examples, and place the output in CODE tags.

Thank you.
