For any addon writers that fancy a challenge with a prize at the end of it, the 'notMac' challenge has recently started as an open source effort to replicate Apple's .mac service.

For the most part, if you're not aware of .mac, it consists of a WebDAV server, remote space (an iDisk) running via WebDAV and various items to share and sync calendars, bookmarks and other such things via .mac. There's more to it than that, but that's the core.

There's a nice howto for doing most of these things at http://www.tnpi.net/wiki/Do_It_Yourself_.Mac

Since .mac is often slow and it costs money for a crappy service, I often get asked by Mac users if I could offer .mac like services with their hosting plan. With cPanel however, this isn't easy - just see the howto for why!

So, is anyone up to the challenge of integrating a .mac like service in to cPanel in an easy to admin way ?

The notMac challenge website is at http://www.notmacchallenge.com/

I'm not connected in any way with any of the links above. I just think this is a good opportunity for someone to pick up with cPanel.
