I have a Linode VPS running cPanel VPS Edition and NSD as a Name Server. I am using Linode's DNS Cluster with a Slave hosted at: ns2.domain.com.

I need to configure NSD to make every new domain available to the Slave, however, from what I understand NSD does not have global ability for this, and every zone requires:

Code:
notify: 172.16.18.169 tsig-testtsig
provide-xfr: 172.16.18.169 tsig-testtsig
outgoing-interface: 172.16.18.172
Any ideas how I can implement this?

Hello :)

cPanel does not natively support DNS clustering with Linode's DNS clustering service. Have you tried contacting them for assistance with the configuration changes you are required to make?

Thank you.

The issue is a cPanel issue. It has to do with the method in which cPanel makes the additions to NSD.conf. BIND allows global slave settings, NSD requires them PER ZONE. So the issue is either cPanels inability to add the zone settings, or NSDs need for them to be per zone.

Please be civil.

NSD requires defining the slave configuration per zone, as outlined in the NSD documentation: nlnetlabs.nl :: nsd-checkconf man ::
