    I have 2 VPS's, 1 is the production server, 1 as a backup.

Currently I run a daily backup that is deleted each night before the new backup transfers. What I am looking to do would be to run the backup on the server Files, SQL, Etc. and transfer is to the backup each night, keeping 2-3 nights worth of backups and delete backups older then 72 hours.

I have looked into rsync but I am confused on how to set this up and make it work. The built in WHM backup over the past month has knocked my VPS offline several times with overloading the CPU/Memory. The web host cannot figure out how this is happening on a quad core with 3.5GB of memory.

What is the best solution to make this work? And could you please give me instructions on how to make this work.

    I really appreciate the help.
