I'd like to learn CPanel and become an expert. I've been working with unix for over 20 years, but not much CPanel exposure.

Due to the economy we had to downsize and we lost all the people that maintained our cpanel hosts.

I was wondering if someone could help me learn by recommending some good reading resources for CPanel.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot that is exactly the stuff I was looking for. I'm not that new having done a few things now and again with it but was always very frustrated that I knew how to do it under the unix shell but not within CPanel. I was also always very frustrated that CPanel over write my unix-level changes. Now I am determined to learn to do it the 'right way' through CPanel and to learn how to co-exist and be happy with how it works.

    Once again, thanks.

    You're certainly welcome. :)

I'm not sure how I missed mentioning one more very valuable link, but I see you found that one already, these forums. :)

These forums contain lots of great posts that you're sure to find useful. The forums search works ok, but if you need to power search, try using google from a URL similar to this sans the quotes:

    "https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aforums.cpanel.net distill"

In that example you'll find threads with the word distill in them.
To have changes saved you might make to Apache, you would want to distill the file after making those changes.
