One ftp account + multiple subdomians

    iI looked around the forum and could't find:

    is this possible to create one FTP account for multiple subdomains ?

    If you're a little creative and using the X3 theme, you can do this.

    First, note that a FTP account can only have access to a single directory (and anything under that directory). Now, if you don't want the FTP account to be able to access the entirety of your account, you should place the subdomains in the same folder at time of creation. A convention I personally follow is placing my subdomains in ~/subdomains/subdomainname where subdomainname is the name of the subdomain. This way I can grant access to ~/subdomains, so the account has access to all of the subdomains, but not the main domain.

    Of course, you can customize this to fit your situation. Note, you cannot grant FTP access to directories that are not contained within one another. For example, granting access to ~/subdomains will also grant access to ~/subdomains/mySubDomain but you cannot grant access to ~/mySubDomain and ~/myOtherSubDomain.
