    Hey all,

I've run into the weirdest issue I have ever seen...

I have created email accounts on my CPanel server... All client email accounts (under their own domains) are working perfectly.

I have 3 accounts setup under my domain... 2 of the accounts are receiving email but one: mine!

I am able to receive under the other accounts... All settings are identical for each; the Webmail only works for the 2.

I cannot seem to figure out what would be causing this... I've deleted the account, and tried creating it again, to no avail...

Can anyone lend a hand on how I can resolve this issue? I really don't want to have to use another email addres... That is the last thing I want to do.

    Thanks in advance.

    Frank

Are you talking about the default address? If so, when you go to webmail (I'm assuming you're using Horde, correct me if I'm wrong), you don't need the @domain.com part when you use the default address.

    This sounds familiar to me...
I also once had a lot of trouble figuring what was the problem when... all it was really... was different domain artifacts laying in the configs on the other server from where I moved my account.

If this may help you ...?

No the default address works... It's when I try accessing my email using a secondary account I've created...

Would you be able to explain this a little futher... I'm not sure what you mean by "domain artifacts"... Any clarification would be appreciated... I'm hoping this will solve the problem!

    Thanks,
    Frank

Sometimes if you move an account from one server to another, certain things can be left behind, such as config files. This can cause the problem you describe. I do believe, however, that wouldn't be your problem if you deleted and recreated the account and still had the problem. Perhaps someone else could clarify on the account recreation ;)

    Re: hi

    manokiss,

The problem isn't logging into the webmail... I haven't had problems with that... It's actually with receiving email to that one single account. All other accounts can receive email (web-based access and through outlook)...

I can send from this one account, but I am not receiving anything.

    Hi Tom,

Originally I had copied the email accounts from another server (non-cPanel). But like you said, after deleting the account, any files that may have been causing the problem would have been deleted as well, right?

If anyone can lend a hand, I am out of ideas...

    Thanks again,
    Frank

    hi

you cheked if really the problem is after the mail arrive to the server ?

    do this

tail -f /var/log/exim_mainlog and send a mail to that mail address and check if this apear in the log.

If the message apear in the log, you can continue searching in the server, but if not, is not a a server problem.

    Me too

    Hi

I am having the same problem. I have about 10 email accounts set up and all of them work fine except one:

It can send mail, but does so with a large lag time.

    It does not receive mail.
Emails sent to that account are not bouncing back to the sender either. They just seem to disappear!

Does anyone know how to fix this amd most importantly to recover the missing emails?

    Thanks

    Kie

This may be a stupid question, and probably is but....

Do the emails excist in the email file?
Log into ftp and goto /mail/username/ and download inbox.
Open it in notepad and take a look. Latest email will be at the bottom.

I think the exim log file would do the same.

    I'll shut up now :)

I'm afraid I've just deleted that file in order to try and reset the account - didn't work though!

I've got another problem now though - I can't use webmail unless I go through cpanel. If I try to do it the usual way, I get to the page where I usually select neomail or horde, except that the icons for these aren't there, and so I can't select either and I am stuck!!

    Update:

I deleted a dodgey script and the chronjob that was set to run it every minute (to test it out) and hey presto, email is back.

    Phew

Shame it took me several days to realise that it had gone...!
