one small question about "create account"

I help one customer to transfer his account/domain to our host domain. I create his account/domain on our host server. And also i set up serveral email accounts. Then i asked his provider to switch DNS server to our server. I know after swtiching, i should wait from one to three days. But the interesting thing is that i can send/receive email even when i use "whois" and it still display the old name server. Any idea about this?

Either the propagation is not completed or the your clients previous provider may not have switched the DNS to your server. Please check with the provider once again.

You must be using SMTP and POP3 server as 'mail.domainname.com' and as the domain is still poinitng to the old server, the mails will work fine.

Also now a days the DNS changes takes not more that 24 hours to propagate.
