    Hi,

I wanted to know if configuring the MYSQLserver with OpenSSL for encrypting a remote connection have any adverse effects on the SSL provided by cPanel for the server?

    Thanks,

    Hello,

The AutoSSL functionality should not interfere with your remote MySQL server configuration. Could you provide some more information about the specific concern you have?

    Thank you.

    Thanks For your reply.

I wish to distribute a software, authentication for which would be done remotely by connecting to the mySQL data base on the server. Now in order to enable encryption teh server has to be SSL capable, so I thought getting a certificate would be enough, but apparently it is not. So I looked online and there is a way using openSSL generation and setting some fields on the server etc. Alternatively is it possible to skip openSSL generation and use the cpanel generated SSL certificate for mySQL usage?
