    hello all -

I am running whm/cpanel on redhat fedora fc2. The isp where I am hosted (vps @ Rackforce) offers a hardware firewall. The firewall seems to work fine, but it cannot be adminsitered at all by the end-users. Instead, it just blocks a set group of ports and that's it.

I had a whm/cpanel/redhat machine for two years and I protected it with apf. No problems at all. For a few bucks a month, I would appreciate the extra security, but I'm not really sure that it's very helpful.

Question: Do you think whm/cpanel on redhat is reasonably secure on it's own, or is a hardware firewall (when available) absolutely worth it? Any opinions welcome!!

    thanks, Dave
