Optimize wordpress on a cPanel Server?

Hi all

We have a cPanel Server running on CentOS.

We have been experiencing that some sites - most WordPress sites have a long response time, and our customers are also asking why their sites sometimes is hanging.

We have about 50 websites on our hosting enviroment.

What could be the best thing to do to speed up the response time to our customers webpages?
