In response to release of Mysql 5.x, Oracle has released Oracle 10G XE which is FREE. Oracle has bought InnoDB OY ... so are they going for MySQL Kill now???

    Cheers

Installation was fine (except that it does modify kernel parameters). Tried on CentOS 4.2.
However, recompiling (from ssh) php to have --with-oci8=$ORACLE_HOME leads to problems as it needs pthread enabled in apache. So is it that cPanel Servers are not fit for being used for Oracle (which needs certain changes to be built in on php etc).

    TIA
    Anup
