    Hello,

    Is there a way to give one of my developers access to our mysql portion of cpanel to create a new database etc... without giving them full admin rights via cpanel?

    Thanks,
    Ken

    Do your hosting provider support remote mysql login???

    If so follow these steps;

    1. Create a database 'database' with user name 'user' and password 'pass'
    2. Give these details to your web developer
    3. He can connect to the mysql server as follows

    # mysql -h <server host name or IP> -u user -ppass
    mysql>

    then he can create databases and use.

    (assume they are using the default mysql port)

    Hope this will help you.

    Alternatively via WHM you could setup developer.yourdomain.tld

    Let him set up a temp database, setup the tables and date - export it via SQL.

    Go to the server where the master data is and import the SQL.

    All you'd do is then give him access to the developer cPanel
